How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Katya steps out of the tight dress her husband had had made for her, just slightly too small, which she could have taken as a form of flattery, but instead just makes her uncomfortable. She unclips the pinching earrings from her ears, setting them on the vanity, and slowly removes the rest of her jewelry: the clasps of metal around her wrists, and the chain around her throat. They're all from him, every last one, and as she does every night, she dreams of walking invisibly out the balcony door, and leaving these precious shackles of gold and silver for good.

Abruptly he looked up: from somewhere amongst the moors a great bird had risen up—and another—and another... until they almost filled the sky.

She’d seen the look on Jeff’s face once when Jackie was planning something or other, and realised that he felt the same way she did, that Jackie didn’t even know, hadn’t even tried to find out, whether any of the things she was suggesting were what Shauna or Jeff actually wanted, and that if anything Jackie seemed to be dismissing their own opinions.

In that moment, Jeff looked at Shauna, and they both knew they understood each other.

"It- It worked," Tobirama said, his eyes wide and agonised, "I had them back, Madara, they came, and- and they were broken and screaming," he sobbed, fingers curling into Madara's sleeves, clutching at him, "they fought and they weren't right, and I- I had to- I couldn't-"

Madara swallowed thickly, trying not to be sick, and drew his lover close, feeling the shudders rolling through Tobirama's entire body and looking over the bloody mess of the room with new horror.

It would be a good life, and one that fit the shape of Mito - princess, kunoichi, diplomat, fuuinjutsu mistress - quite nicely, and yet . . . somehow. . .

He turned to Kei, a smile curving his lips, and found the same sentiment, the same surety waiting in Kei's clear eyes; a light, feathery sort of giddiness wrapped around the certainty he had already felt.

"Here comes the sun." Kei said almost idly, holding out his hand, and Sho clasped it, twining their fingers, leaning into Kei as they watched the first sunrise for either of them in so many years - and the last for them both.
