How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

He knows that she lost her own father and now she is orphaned twice over. He knows that it is the undeath that creeps into her veins and throttles her pure life.

Still, when she looks at him in delirium and agony, reaches for his hand, and calls to him in that terribly young voice "papa, it hurts", he can't help but reach and press a cool hand to her brow to soothe her.

"Shush, shush, my child," he murmurs. "It will be over soon. Rest."

"Don't leave me," she weeps, so softly. "It hurts so much."

"Shh, my child. I will stay, I will stay."

Losing his clan was like losing his life - no, his soul, leaving only a hollowed-out husk behind. He was an extension of the Clan's will, he had no existence without it.

(And, selfishly, it had hurt, to watch men he'd trained alongside all his life turn their backs on him. To watch his master's heart turn to stone towards him, as though he truly believed Yoshi would ever betray him.)

He'd built some semblance of a life for himself across the sea, lost it all, never really built it back up - and then, fate conspired to bless him with four sons as unique as he was. It was years before he allowed himself to think 'clan' in reference to them, but that's what they were, and he cherished them as he had once believed himself cherished.

The young man in the middle of the family stands out among them with his soft, brightly-colored sweater and light blue jeans, but he seems so comfortable, so at home, that you could not say that he doesn't belong.
"This is our new son, Steve Harrington Addams; his parents were not suitable, so he is ours now."
The young man waves from where the small girl is clinging to his arm and the intimidatingly tall woman has a delicate hand resting gently on his shoulder.

Her mother steps back from her preparations, looks around the room, and nods. Yes, it's all done--the food is ready, the drinks poured, the band tuned up, and the decorations finished. The guests will arrive in minutes, so when Morticia turns to Wednesday, the teen already knows what her mother wants, but waits for her to speak anyway.

"Wednesday, summon your father's (many times over) great uncle, will you? It's just about time."

With a nod, Wednesday clears her throat and speaks "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice."

(Somewhere down a hall, her father and uncle shout "Uncle!" and there's a loud ruckus as the three men reunite once more.)

Doug met Stede first, which was like meeting a ghost (a ghost who made his paramour very, very tetchy) until the moment he came back with Mary, plotting his own death and as warmly alive as the sun.

Stede only shone brighter when he brought Ed around, a man who was beautiful and intimidating and nervous and whose expressive eyes exploded into stars nearly like tears when Mary pulled him in for a hug.

It was years, actually, before Doug met Israel Hands, but he could immediately tell that he was in the other men's orbit, his whole body listening to he pair's rhythms aside from his wary, glaring eyes--he was a sentinel, sure, but Doug could also recognize immediately the way he shone in little crescent glimpses whenever Ed pulled him close for a noogie or Stede rested his hand on Izzy's arm.

Kaz leans gently on the ship’s railing as he stares up at the endless night sky and the small pricks of light peering down at them. These are the stars that have watched over Inej during her adventures on the sea when he couldn’t. He wants to believe Jordie is up amongst them.

Inej rests her hands against the railing, centimetres from his. She looks at his profile as he watches the stars. "Yes," she says, "and before you ask, no." He smiles and lifts his naked little finger, shifting his hand ever so slightly so he can rest his finger against hers. "My Saints didn’t tell me that."

Kaz grits his teeth and ignores the sharp tightness of his throat as he stares down at the makeshift grave of Jordie Rietveld. "Did your Saints tell you that?" he rasps quietly.

Inej shakes her head as she looks up at him, smiling too softly for what he deserves. "No," she says quietly and flexes her fingers as though she wishes to reach out to him. But what Inej doesn’t understand is that she’s already reached him. She’s docked at his harbour, anchored so deep into the ocean bed of his waters that even if she was to leave, he’d still feel the imprint of her weight no matter how far she sailed.

"They didn’t tell me," she continues, "You did. You can destroy things brick by brick, Kaz, but you can rebuild brick by brick, too."

Ah, yes. Unlike the Sharingan, the Byakugan is present from birth, sleeping until awakened by extensive training or traumatic experiences. Hinata-kun's voice holds both nervousness and certainty - she knows what she's seeing inside her cousin's body, but she worries that she is using her dōjutsu incorrectly.

That's something Itachi can correct.

The palace guards found her quickly, although in their defense a sudden, huge explosion that caused a small earthquake and left a crater behind was hard to miss.

"Halt!"

They circled Sakura, pointing at her with their swords, and barked, "Drop your weapons!"

Sakura opened her right hand and the kunai clattered on the paved road.

"All of your weapons!"

She exhaled with an eye roll hidden by the darkness, but proceeded to throw away the rest of her kunai, shuriken, senbon, seal tags, ninja wire, a tanto, poisoned darts, and even a giant spiked mace; then, when she was finished, she raised her hands in a pacifying gesture, standing in a circle of scattered steel. The guards eyed her warily and took her aside to cuff her.

"Hey, you forgot one," Sakura pointed at the heap of weapons; when the guard nearest to her turned aside unconsciously for a second to look she broke her restraints, left him unconscious with an uppercut, and the rest soon followed.

"Well, I guess I'm adding a few swords to my collection," she dismissed the summoned weapons. It always was a great distraction.
