How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

There is no shame in the way of the dragons — they are the most powerful family in Westeros, and their way reigns strong over any of the Faith's tenets.

It is a foregone conclusion, and so it is all Rhaenyra hears growing up: Daemon will destroy you, Daemon will consume you, Daemon will eat you alive. It is said to her in candied, oblique comments when Daemon leaves the room and whispered behind their backs when they walk together, but Rhaenyra pays no mind to any of it; a star is no real choice beside the fire of a dragon.

There is no gap between his death and his continued life, no possible spacetime in which he isn't. He is the Force and the Force is as intrinsic to the Universe as gravity is. When the Death Star explodes and his mortal body dies, he feels its cells violently split apart into their component atoms, feels the molecules of the station violently split apart into their component atoms, feels atoms collide against atoms in a massive release of energy that ripples through the subatomic to his elemental soul.

It is hard being older than all of her peers. They are not immature, she does not enjoy the company of those who are truly immature, but her friends are still girls, and they laugh easily and worry about girlish things that Susan can no longer bring herself to be concerned with. It's isolating, and she wishes sometimes that she could be a girl again herself; it would be so much easier.

“Have I not told you to never give me orders?” Vasya said, rolling them over so that she sat astride him, the tips of her hair brushing against his chest; she trailed her forefinger over the strong planes of his face, enjoying how his eyes lidded at the mere touch of her fingertip, enjoying the control she had over him, the frost-demon she had broken like a young foal with her stubbornness, who suffered her demands and bent to her will.

“Perhaps,” he murmured as her finger brushed over his lips, tracing the curve of his mouth, “but I think I require a reminder of why I shouldn’t,” he said with a smile, his cool gaze drifting over her form in fond appreciation, as she shifted to straddle his hips, her legs tight around him.

Leaning forward, her hot skin pressed against his cool chest, she whispered, “Because it is I who gives the orders, Karachun,” and she pinned his shoulders with her hands and took him into the heat of her.

Storm waited for the student to finish, to tell the rest of the joke, to indicate any awareness of the fact that Xavier's School for Gifted Children contained persons who could manipulate natural phenomena and that he was asking the question of someone who had been considered a weather goddess at some point in her life.

"Yes," she said bluntly, when none of that awareness materialized on Mark's face.

In the half-dark hours before the sunrise, by the sea, they sit together and read each other--they read every meaning and every sigil in these paths of red and black and blue, etched deep with magic. Together, so close, so sharp, so careful, as if they had a small, tender secret within. And, perhaps, they do.

Minato fingers the seal on the kunai, a seal that everyone recognises on sight even if no one knows how to use it.

But, as someone who has worked with seals for a long time, Minato knows that they are not static things. No, a seal is a map, designed to direct chakra in particular ways to achieve particular ends, and maps are nothing but symbols, a representation of ways of thought.

This seal did what is was supposed to, for a particular man at at particular time and Minato closes his hand around the hilt.

He knows his own mind, his own chakra, his own ends.

Now he needs to make his own map.

"My brother, always such a terrible strategist," Loki says, his tone of voice annoyed, and his mouth scowling; yet there is something wistful and lost in his eyes.

Sylvie firmly shuts down that idea, turning away from the variant and his reminiscing, checking over her weapons (again). His melancholy is his own business, and she will not dwell on it, nor allow herself to even think of chasing one's brother through never-ending mazes, and laughing in the golden sunlight of mother's gardens.

When he moves into the small hut in the Wastes, Obi-Wan digs the wooden box up once more. Hidden in the middle of the desert, he finds it with the Force, following the embers of a bond that feels like a ghost trapped in his chest without escape.

Anakin's lightsaber hasn't changed in the decade it's been hidden away in the sand, but Obi-Wan has; he greets the ghost with resigned, pained affection and takes the box home with him to wait for the inevitable.

The Republic, dead; his friends hacked in pieces; when some strange instinct leads him to Mustafar, Obi-Wan is more than ready to carry out Yoda's orders.

Then he sees it - barely dry tear trails on Vader's face amidst the inhuman grin, the foul stench of ash and the Dark side, the aftermath of the massacre; it's the tiniest crak, but it's there and that's all that matters.

It might be kinder to kill Anakin, Obi-Wan muses; but that's not who he is and he isn’t feeling merciful, either; he doesn't know what he'll do after, but he will make Anakin face what he has done; he will drag him to the Light kicking and screaming, because this is not Obi-Wan's first war and he isnot losing this fight, no matter what it takes.

The teachers kept us inside two whole days, and they read stories and assigned chores and did everything to avoid talking about it, but we all knew the Shinra robots were out there attacking everything that moved and the mercs were fighting and getting hurt trying to keep them away from the houses. When we were finally allowed out again, a lot of the grownups' stuff was dented or knocked down, but our hideout was just wrecked.

That's why Shinra sucks, and why every time one of those guys in suits comes down here, he's not allowed to go back up before we steal his wallet.

For so long, Lin-xiaoniang has been a towering presence in her life, one that cast long shadows over everything she did, from her lessons with Molan to her mother’s death in childhood.

Minglan unrolls the scroll Molan gave her when she moved into her new courtyard, to rub it in her face that her mother is dead and Molan’s a favored concubine. Look, she almost says, but holds herself back, Look at the seeds that you have sown. Look at how they have grown.

As though they were briar and woodbine, grown far too quickly and lost forever to separation. The rush of joy eclipses her thoughts until there's no thought for anything but the pulse of life between them.

Wine glass in hand Harlock looked out towards the stars, and the soft, almost sorrowful music of Miime's harp filling the air of his quarters. A typical scene in The Arcadia's downtime.

In this vast and endless sea of stars, there was something that was somehow much harder to grasp the scale of... That everlasting mourning that continued to carry on inside Harlock's heart. This sadness within wasn't a secret to his crew.

But despite all that he carried inside of him, Harlock kept moving on. There was still a fire inside him. This sea of stars was forever his home, and a sailor could never afford to idly sit on by.

Despite it all, he would sail onwards.

His dear friend wouldn't want that, and with that firey spirit from his friend that now blazed within Harlock's own heart— neither did he.

There are plenty of swan maidens in Narnia and frankly it's a little confusing to Peter--he's more than once made a fool of himself trying to figure out if he's talking to a Dumb swan who is on the large side, Talking swans who might be on the small size, or swan maidens could tend to look identical to Dumb swans. Their human forms are a little more recognizable as they are, on the whole, tend to be pale colored, tall, and beautiful; they also all tend to keep their feathered cloaks on their person at all times, either as actual cloaks or sashes.

What makes them different is if they try to look willowy and delicate--Lucy's two guards look like waifish handmaidens right up until someone tried to hurt his sister, in which case they descended on the attacker with inhuman strength until Lucy would step in to stop them from literally tearing the attacker to shreds--or if they do not.

And, on the other hand, you would get swan maidens like Lady Etain; Peter's new general to the northern armies was taller than most minotaurs he'd met and more muscled too. She looked very pleased when he blurted out as much and said "Some of my fellow swans might try pretty and weak, but they have the same strength as I. I'm one of the ones that are just not going to hide it."

Peter nodded, mainly on the account that he was too busy staring at one of her biceps that was bigger than his own head and coming to the uncomfortable realization that he preferred this brawnier beauty instead.
