How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

"Please tell me this isn't real," he says across from her, his hands kept so rigidly still she knows it's only to keep them from reaching out to her, and she closes her eyes for a moment, forces them back open. She cannot be so weak now, not at the end, not when the answers will be out soon.

"I knew they'd send you," she says instead of any answer, and watches his face crumple into despair with all the detachment of a bomb waiting for the fuse to finish burning.

Jyn moves with the sudden stop and start motions of someone used to having to make quick decisions, having to move without warning, living with the knowledge he's always had and he knows now she has always had too that the galaxy isn't ever going to be anything close to fair.

He tugs the uniform on, straightens the creases just so, closes his eyes and sees her face, opens them again and glances over to see it again, grim and focused forwards. Even if they succeed, they aren't making it out of this - he knows that, knows they all know that, and yet for some reason his heart is lighter than it has been in a long, long time.

The Walking Dead, Daryl/Glenn

Daryl grumbles when Glenn suggests working on the veggie garden on the first day that the temperature hits triple digits. Then Glenn strips off his shirt and Daryl gets his first look at that lean, smooth torso; feels his mouth go dry when Glenn's back muscles flex with every heap of dirt he shovels. Yeah, Daryl reconsiders, workin' on the veggie patch is a damn fine idea.

Supernatural, Dean/Castiel

"I don't want to talk about it," Dean said curtly to Sam when he and Castiel returned exceptionally late from what should have been a simple mission.

"The coven captured us and performed a sex pollen type spell in which we were impelled to have sexual intercourse for several hours," Castiel explained helpfully.

When Sam merely gaped at them, he hurried to put the other man's mind at ease. "Thankfully this was not our first time," he reassured him, wondering why Dean suddenly covered his face with his hands as he spoke, "so much of the awkwardness was mitigated."

The Walking Dead, Daryl/Beth

Daryl hadn't wanted Beth bringing the kittens back to the funeral home. They had enough to do without hand-feeding a bunch of flea magnets.

Then they grew up and he saw how much the mouse population dwindled, and he had to admit that six was just the proper amount of kittens.

"A penny for your thoughts, my dear Kent: what in your mind defines 'knightly behavior'?" Sain asked breezily as his compatriot dragged him away by the arm from the squealing village girl. "Don't I, being a knight, technically engage in such behavior at all hours of the day?"

"Whatever it is, you aren't doing it," Kent replied between gritted teeth, and brooked no further argument.

"Yeah, here you go," and she hesitates before taking the gun back because something about this has to be wrong. Triple checks every aspect of it, makes sure it's completely intact, and then just stands there for a long minute as she absorbs her own confusion and considers it.

This is all they were going to do to her for an "accidental" shooting of a fellow hunter - she checks her GPS again and puts her gun back in it's holster.

Oh, right. America.

Once Upon a Time, Rumple/Belle

"All right, all right, leave me alone, I'm going," Mr. Gold muttered as the goose nipped at his shoes. He managed to slip inside the library quickly enough to shut the annoying fowl outside, and smoothed down his vest and straightened his cufflinks before approaching Belle at the desk. He'd admit his feelings and smooth over their latest little tiff, but after this he and Regina were going to have words about that damn bird.

Dean flipped over another card and squinted, trying to interpret the images the way he'd seen Pamela do it, but it was just hard to concentrate and he found himself squirming in his chair. It'd been weeks since he'd seen Castiel. Could he help it he wanted to maybe see if there were any covens that might put a certain type of sex spell on him and the angel coming up in their near future?

It was supposed to be a kiss for good luck at his first day at the IFA. It ended up being a quick fuck on the table, a blow job in the shower, and arriving at school over an hour late. Justin's sure the orientation isn't that important anyway.

Live Free or Die Hard, John & Lucy

Jimmy breaks up with Lucy 12 minutes after the ball drops, so John spends the first hour after midnight driving to a rave in Camden to pick up his daughter and listening to her alternately rave about her asshole now-ex and cry onto his shoulder.

It could have been worse. New Year's Day is a holiday, after all.

Once Upon a Time, Rumple/Belle

"And make sure you spray his tentacles with slime every four hours," Rumple reminded.

"Yes, yes," Belle said as she steered him to the door, "and file his eye-teeth, and give his spike a good scrub before bed. I remember. Now go. You said these flowers only bloom for a few days a year and you're going to have a long search on your hands!"

As Rumple transported himself to the forested lands near the Kitsis River, he mused that it must be love, for he wouldn't trust the care of his eldritch monster to anyone but Belle.

Live Free or Die Hard, John and Matt

"That kid," John said loudly to the guys in the bullpen, "won't leave me the fuck alone. It's embarrassing. Anybody got any ideas on how I can let him down gently and get him outta my goddamn house?"

Matt backed away slowly before John and the other cops could notice him, the paper bag lunch he'd painstakingly prepared for McClane clutched in his fist. If he hurried he'd have time to be packed and out before John got home from the precinct.

He didn't notice John wince as the door closed behind him.

Her fingers feel numb as they hand her the paperwork, everything she hears seeming to come from so far away it might as well not even be there, and she knows that if she signs them she is consigning her husband to a life he will never forgive her for, knows that if she does this the next few minutes they have together (if he survives the procedure, her treacherous brain whispers) will be the last time he will look at her without betrayal in his eyes.

She signs, almost blindly, shoves them back across the table, and waits, and waits, and waits, for what seems like a lifetime, prays for the first time in so many years, prays for his life but never, not once, does she pray for his forgiveness.

Love can only excuse some transgressions.
