How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Elias is smiling, which is always an ill omen; it should be Peter's signal to walk to the door and not look back.

He grasps Elias by his jaw and kisses him, swallowing his questions about who the good luck kiss is for.

"Few doubts can be placed on your preparations," L'Arachel declared, leaving Eirika to wonder what she had missed that would necessitate that 'few'. "But as you know," L'Arachel continued, "greatness doesn't leave even the smallest of holes and my dear, you missed a very important piece."

Just as Eirika wondered what she could have possibly missed after going over everything for what felt like an uncountable number of times, L'Arachel leaned over to take her face into her hands and kiss her, murmuring against her lips, "Why a kiss for good luck, my love."

"No," Sakumo said, smothering a fond laugh, "though it never hurts, lovely. But I do want a kiss." He pouted, eyes wide, and had his mate in his arms, lips soft against his own, before he lost the battle to keep his grin hidden.

Meg's whip caught him squarely in the chest and sent him flying backward toward the entrance to the chamber.

"Thanks, love," Zagreus said, springing back with Stygius in hand, and the two day to doing their duty.

“Well, good luck at your meeting today to establish professional standards for the consulting detective association,” Joan said at the front door, tugging her maroon sweater around her just as Sherlock donned his winter coat, cap, and scarf to leave the brownstone.

Annoyed, Sherlock huffed and scowled, his voice already assuming lecture mode as he admonished her, “Watson, I am scandalized, for you of all people should understand how genuine consulting detectives never subscribe to anything so banal and feckless as luck; rather, the most experienced sleuths of our calling value most dearly Louis Pasteur’s aphorism instead: Dans les champs de l'observation le hasard ne favorise que les esprits préparés, or, ‘In the fields of observation, chance favors only the prepared mind.’ ”

Joan rolled her eyes, stepped in front of him, raised herself on tiptoe to grasp his shoulders, and planted a resounding kiss on Sherlock’s cheek; after which she pulled back, regarded his shocked expression with a playful look and replied, “Good luck anyway—now get going or you’ll miss your train connection, and I’ll see you tonight at the medical examiner’s office,” all the while opening the door to hustle him outside into the biting February morning.

Zhuzhi lang flinches when soft lips brush against the rough scales on his cheeks.
"Young master Gongyi...?" The snake demon tilts his head in question.
"It's a kiss for good luck! Have a safe journey husband!" Gongyi Xiao's wide smile beams at him and Zhuzhi lang feels like the luckiest demon alive.

Time was tough to figure out in the black, but Jayne knew for sure he had known the moonbrained girl for a good long while, seen her turn from a frightened girl genius to a kickass (and still genius) warrior woman, but hell, if he would ever understand River or be able to keep up with her crazy ways.

"What in the gorram hell was that for?" he asked, when she finally got done laying her lips on his, something he weren't quite willing to admit had given him a thrill.

River smirked as she gave her reply, proving to him she meant not a word of it; "Just a kiss for good luck," she insisted, moving to walk away, turning back at the last to add something Jayne could never argue with, not least 'cause she could read minds, "because she knows how much he wants to get lucky."

Betty’s hands clasp his, her palms scabbed rough, nails polished pink and neat, and whispers of ‘good luck’ grace the air; as if they were nothing but a breeze.

She has never been so weary in all of her life, Nashmeira thinks - not when she was training her company and her new disciples in the hope that she could finally rest for a time, and not even as an apprentice when she had spent untold hours training and trying to prove herself; the threat of more of these poor twisted creatures was unending, born out of pain and grief as they were, and even without her troupe she was one of the few in Eorzea that could calm their fears.

"I never imagined something like this... even in my worst nightmares," she managed, sitting next to her beloved songstress, who had been traveling with her and providing her with accompaniment in the absence of her troupe; she had returned to Eorzea to visit her again, after all, and they'd both agreed it only seemed right that they travel together and try to do what they could during these strange days, to help as much as they could.

F'lhaminn smiled back at her - her smiles were one of the few good things that had come out of these days, she thought, worn as they were - and then picked up her hand to hold it to her lips; "For luck," she murmured, before kissing her knuckles gently, "as I expect we'll need all the luck we can muster to survive this."

She then glanced at Ymir, who gave her an encouraging smile; Historia was about to come out to her homophobic father.

"Do you think I'm doing the right thing?" Historia asked.

"Are you really ready to do this?" Ymir asked, "you don't have to tell him now, just because you think it would make me happy."

"No, I want to, I'm sick of living while not being true to myself!"

Ymir squeezed her hand in encouragement, "then, how about a good luck kiss?"
