This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

“But you would deworm it, though, I mean that’s routine abominary care, right?”

“Unless you’re a space worm, then it’s just cruel.”

A faint rumbling, very difficult to detect where it's coming from, and then, quietly -

"Well, they are very inconvenient."

Flamberge snorted a laugh at the sight of the trio, sneering at them as she spoke: “What are you, his keeper?”
“I prefer the term comrade,” MetaKnight replied calmly, expression stern as ever.
“Damage Control is more like i— Hey! Spit that out and get back here, we’re still talking!” Dedede shouted, waving a chubby finger at the roly-poly hero stuffing the nearby scenery into his mouth.

Transformers (G1), Optimus Prime

Now and then when he's alone he sings, half-remembered hymns and creche songs and popular tunes from before the war got so bad that people stopped making music at all. The Matrix isn't picky - even Earth songs work in a pinch, when the night is deep and the distance from Cybertron is more felt than calculated, when the Matrix starts conjuring nightmares and reaching out for his followers. Perhaps, Optimus supposes, it just misses home.

Kuroo couldn't help but chuckle as he watched his best friend play another round of Pokemon Amie on his 3DS, looking as serious as ever as he used a stylus to give his event Darkrai a couple more head pats.

"They're called poke puffs, Kuro, not cupcakes..."

Naruto Founders, Hashirama & Tobirama

"Otouto, what have you done," Hashirama breathed, staring in horror.

"I don't know what you mean," Tobirama answered, calmly stuffing an errant tentacle back through the hole rent in reality before chucking a bleating goat in after it. "I've read up on them, I know how to take care of an Eldritch Beast."

Naruto, Kagami/OC, responsible eldritch monster ownership

Kagami peers up at Izuna, eyes pleading, and Izuna knows those eyes see far more truth that anyone else's - even nii-san's thousand eyes.

Still, he has to try.

"Kagami, really, you cannot bring home an Uzumaki baby," Izuna is begging and he knows it. "You know what she'll grow up to be!"

"But that's why, Izuna-sama!" Kagami's voice is as high as any toddler's but the determination in it is not. "If she's going to be a mother to monsters, then she can be the mother to my monsters!"

Mito-hime grins and Izuna sighs.

Really, there's nothing he can say to that.

Once Upon a Time, Rumple/Belle

"And make sure you spray his tentacles with slime every four hours," Rumple reminded.

"Yes, yes," Belle said as she steered him to the door, "and file his eye-teeth, and give his spike a good scrub before bed. I remember. Now go. You said these flowers only bloom for a few days a year and you're going to have a long search on your hands!"

As Rumple transported himself to the forested lands near the Kitsis River, he mused that it must be love, for he wouldn't trust the care of his eldritch monster to anyone but Belle.
