This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

Home in the Waves (Beauty and the Beast/Little Mermaid; Belle/femme!siren!Beast)

Belle walks to the shore in her father's place, content to offer herself for him and only glad he had made it back from his travels on the sea - but she hesitates on the sand; not in fear, only uncertainty . . . how is she to continue, where is the monster to whose clutches she goes?

A silver song ripples through the air and seizes Belle's breath, her heart surging in her chest, her eyes wide as her mind is drawn into the gentle promise of freedom and life and understanding, winding around her adoringly.

Belle leaves her slippers and her cloak on the sand, the surf rushing up to meet her like a lover; cold water curls around her, along with the creature's scale-dappled green-blue arms - and her silvery tail, and the dark, clinging coils of her hair - and Belle has never felt so wanted, so beautiful, so perfect.

“Well, good luck at your meeting today to establish professional standards for the consulting detective association,” Joan said at the front door, tugging her maroon sweater around her just as Sherlock donned his winter coat, cap, and scarf to leave the brownstone.

Annoyed, Sherlock huffed and scowled, his voice already assuming lecture mode as he admonished her, “Watson, I am scandalized, for you of all people should understand how genuine consulting detectives never subscribe to anything so banal and feckless as luck; rather, the most experienced sleuths of our calling value most dearly Louis Pasteur’s aphorism instead: Dans les champs de l'observation le hasard ne favorise que les esprits préparés, or, ‘In the fields of observation, chance favors only the prepared mind.’ ”

Joan rolled her eyes, stepped in front of him, raised herself on tiptoe to grasp his shoulders, and planted a resounding kiss on Sherlock’s cheek; after which she pulled back, regarded his shocked expression with a playful look and replied, “Good luck anyway—now get going or you’ll miss your train connection, and I’ll see you tonight at the medical examiner’s office,” all the while opening the door to hustle him outside into the biting February morning.

(It helps that about half the cast of ACGAS was on DW as well. I didn't even mention the time Patrick Troughton turned up, entirely concealed behind an enormous beard!)

"Doctor, as we are sharing thoughts you should know that I am aware that the majority of your own thoughts are also occupied by the captain," Spock said with a raised eyebrow.

McCoy did not dignify that with a response.

I'm thinking it's a cyberpunk-verse and because of the whole 'friends in a past life might become friends in a new life' I believe this new not-Sokka is going to befriend the avatar and go adventures. Except this time, maybe he gets moon powers (the idea of *Sokka* with powers is hilarious) or Yue goes out of her way to look after him.

It could be fun!

It IS perfect and I'm a little annoyed that Tim Burton made a Wednesday series but it would probably never have a Beetlejuice crossover. Sadness. ...unless there's a Beetlejuice reference in that series I don't know about.

"I assure you," Dream says in his ponderous way, "that I have had far worse family dinners than this."
