How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Any, any, ending a relationship

Endings (Naruto; Sakura & Naruto, ending Sasuke/Naruto)

Sakura dragged herself out of bed with a muttered curse; someone had better be dying, and even then- She lost her train of thought as she opened the door to reveal Naruto, downcast and blotchy, eyes red and face wet, arms curled around himself as though he were braced for a blow - or had already taken one.

"I- I had a talk with Sasuke," Naruto said, his voice raspy and weak, and more tears coursed down his face; his cheeks already looked a little raw from crying, "we're- we- we're not gonna be able to. . . It's not working. Not for a long time. And- I-"

Sakura opened her arms, pulling Naruto inside, hiding her cringe - half distress and half fury - in Naruto's hair as he buried his face against her shoulder, shaking.

Star Wars Prequels, Padmé/Anakin

When she looks back at their relationship, it’s a thousand different things that doomed it: how quickly they had decided to get married, having to lie to her family and friends, the frequent separations caused by their respective duties, how quick he was to violence (she remembered Rush, bloody and beaten), and a secret left buried in the sands of Tatooine that Padmé can hardly even let herself think about.

But it happened, and one day hearing Anakin was coming home early from the front brought dread to her heart instead of a smile to her face, when the force of his love for her feels suffocating instead of comforting.

A part of her will always love him—she can’t change that—but the next time she sees him, she forces herself to ignore his pleas and his tears and tells him that she wants a divorce.

"We're better as friends." Sypha choked out the words—they were true, but it felt so much like admitting defeat, that she hadn't been able to make this work. "This—us—we bring out the worst in each other like this. And besides...you don't look at me the way a man should look at the woman he loves."

"What—that's—what the fuck are you talking about?" Trevor sounded hurt, baffled, and a little angry. "How the hell am I supposed to look at you?"

How dense could one man be? "You should be looking at me the way you look at Alucard," Sypha snapped. "And since you don't, maybe you should think about what that means."

Trevor stared at her, gobsmacked, and Sypha strode away to nurse her wounds in private before he could say anything else.

Wrestling (WWE/NXT), Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY gen (before Toxic Attraction’s breakup)

"NXT graciously asked me to host Ding Dong Hello! and interview Toxic Attraction," Bayley told Dakota and IYO.

"They cost me the tag titles," IYO said to Bayley.

"They took the NXT women's tag titles from me too," Dakota added. "There's no way you're interviewing them and inviting them to try and take our tag titles from us."

"Calm down, calm down." Bayley made a "settle down" gesture. "Why would I unite two toxic people with no attraction to each other?" Bayley asked, laughing.
