How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

TRIO (Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 3rd Story, Tamao/Seiji/Bambi)

That boy was like the tempo: a constant, grounded presence - a steady hand always beside him that he could lean on for support.

By that token, he was more like the key: prone to fluctuation, hiding his true nature behind a sharp tongue and a flat expression.

And the girl? She was like the melody, flitting effortlessly to and fro between the two of them, bright and beautiful and utterly captivating in her ways.

I don't know anything about this fandom, but this is so delightfully evocative! I can almost hear them walking through town lol

Aw thank you so much. That means a lot, especially with you not being familiar with the canon.

You didn’t ask but for a bit of context: Seiji (the narrator in this piece) is a musical prodigy and a big tsundere, so thinking in music terms seemed like it’d be a more accessible way for him to come to grips with his feelings.

The other two are his student council president bestie (they’re sort of like a married couple) and the female player character who they’re both head over heels for.

Thank you very much! The narrator is a musical prodigy so framing his relationships in music terms felt fitting. ♪

Singin' in the Rain, Don/Cosmo/Kathy

They've all got their own rhythm, the three of them. Don's got the control and easy strength that can equally lift Kathy into a graceful spin and launch Cosmo into a playful backflip; Kathy throws her heart into every motion and flies into the air always trusting Cosmo to hold her steady and Don to catch her if she falls; Cosmo nimbly steps in among them all, and while he might sometimes look like he's in the background, the dance would never look quite right without him pulling Don into an old routine or catching Kathy's arm to show her a new step.

They all have their own rhythm, but when they dance together, they're in perfect harmony.

1-2, 2-3, 3-1, and repeat (Keroro Gunso, Kururu/Mutsumi/Dororo)

Mutsumi and Kururu were a perfect match, first off, undeniably on the same wavelength since day one; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Kururu had brought something bright and wonderful into Mutsumi's life, and in a way that was mutual, because Kururu had realize abruptly one evening that if Mutsumi passed out of his life, he would take something vital with him.

Mutsumi could spend ages in comfortable silence with Kururu, but he wasn't the only one, as no silence ever felt heavy or awkward with Dororo; they both loved being outside, under open skies in the gentle breeze, and Dororo liked his poetry, and for his part, Mutsumi liked learning better shogi skills by playing against him (though even Dororo couldn't teach Mutsumi to focus on the game enough to actually beat him, it seemed).

As for Dororo and Kururu... Well, Dororo could be patient. He was coming to understand him, he thought, and as he saw more of that care that hid under the off-putting surface -- and came to appreciate his immense genius more over time -- he felt that if it took Kururu some time to lower his walls enough to let a second person in... That gradual process was, like many things in life, well worth waiting for.

MCU, Tony/Bucky/Steve

(Ignoring everything after winter soldier and probably some stuff before then, too. My brain has relatched onto 2014 to obsess over some ships I turned my nose up to at the time.)

James Barnes nearly broke Tony's wrist, the first time they met--the billionaire was always poking bruises, metal ones especially so--but he was the only one who didn't handle him with kid gloves on, and three months after James ("can I call you Jim?") first caved and let Tony look at his arm, they kissed in a lab surrounded by metal pieces of sort-of-him, James's one functioning hand in Stark's hair.

With something stable (easy, even, this arcane new world of only doing what you want) and brand new to stand on, it was easier for Barnes to return to Steve, hole-riddled heart in hand, and ask for a dance he could just barely remember having wanted since he was the very first version of himself, a new Bucky and a new Steve doing old steps around their living room, until Steve caught something in his eye and swung him into a new dance entirely.

The final piece (between his stubborn, indulgent, constantly-moving mechanical nurse and his quietly hilarious, also-stubborn, ever-adaptable link to the past) seemed inevitable to Barnes, but he knew they had a sometimes-rocky history, so the day he caught Steve sketching Tony's face framed by a dark sky full of stars, he snorted loud enough to summon the man himself over and slipped, smirking and deathly-quiet, out of the ensuing scuffle for the sketchbook.

Wrestling (WWE), Damage CTRL (IYO SKY/Dakota Kai/Bayley)

IYO wasn't one to talk about her feelings often but she liked Bayley and Dakota as her supporters--sometimes her only supporters depending on the city they were in for the night.

Dakota wanted people she believed in again after losing Raquel again; IYO and Bayley were those people.

Bayley loved IYO and Dakota because she saw herself in them, she saw these girls had potential that apparently other idiots didn't pick up on, and because she saw they were part of the future for WWE.
