This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

It was absolutely pouring outside, droplets of rain tapped and slid down the windows and slammed against the roof of the attic. Eiji and Hina looked outside the window, taking in the sounds of the rain while Ankh was scrolling around on his iPhone as per usual.

"It's relaxing." Hina smiled as she looked up towards the sky.

Eiji nodded with a grin of his own, "Yeah." It was really nice... Having this quiet moment between the three of them.

As if on cue, that silence ended as Ankh scoffed. Looking up from his phone from up on his perch, "I don't get what you humans find so relaxing about this."

Hina stormed right on over, "You never like anything!" Promptly flicking Ankh on the nose.

"Oi!" Ankh sneered right at Hina. He almost reached out to bite her for that, but after a moment of consideration he simply rolled his eyes and scoffed again. Turning to the side as he went back to his iPhone.

Some things never change.

New Life Begins | 卿卿日常

Hao Jia always hated thunderstorms, the way the world rumbled and roared, all sounding too much like the rage that her father might sometimes direct at the women in his house, and the rain too much like their tears. She once thought, perhaps, it might be different here in Xin State, where she could perhaps learn to like the rain, but how wrong she had been, oh how very wrong…

And yet, as the day that Yin Song was decreed to leave the capital bleed into night, rain came pouring down, pounding on the roof of the restaurant where her sisters had given her shelter and respite, and for the first time in a long time, Hao Jia found the sound pleasant, like music dancing on the roof tiles, the melody now lulling her into the first restful sleep she had had in a long, long time…

oh, this is so sad... ;-; I'm glad Hao Jia finally gets a good sleep.

Reverse Tank (Kingyou-hime; Keisuke/Kingyou-kun)

"Wha-" Keisuke never wakes up well, and it takes him a few tries to get himself both upright and out of the sheet tangled around his legs, facing the right way, his tongue sorted out, ". . .what're doin'?"

Kin-chan is curled up by the one window in his - their, now, Keisuke thinks, a little dizzily - tiny apartment, wrapped in the blanket from the bed, fingers pressed to the glass as rain pelts off it with a soft patter. "It's like being in a tank, but backwards!" Kin-chan says with delight, turning to look at him, eyes sparkling, and Keisuke blinks, slowly wrapping his head around that as Kin-chan watches him, wide eyes patient.

". . .I suppose so," Keisuke says eventually, a little amused; he has never considered his apartment to be like a fish tank - though . . . he eyes Kin-chan's empty tank across the room; it is probably more luxurious than the apartment Kin-chan now shares with him outside the tank most times, "does it sound, uh," Keisuke stumbles out of bed and wanders over to his tiny, adorable boyfriend, kissing the top of Kin-chan's head and winding his arms around Kin-chan as he makes a chirruping noise and snuggles into the embrace, "something like being in the tank?"

Kin-chan is . . . a goldfish. >.> (Kingyou.) Who can turn into a boy sometimes. For reasons. Thus why there's still a tank in Keisuke's apartment - for those times when he isn't boy-shaped. X'D

Fish has had a bit of a rough life, but the tank isn't so bad, no. XD And . . . now he lives in a tiny apartment with a disaster fuckboy of a boyfriend, but that appears to make him happy, so. . . *shrugs*
