This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

It never becomes easy, standing back up when his body screams at him to give out, to sink into the styx. Thanatos' hand on his shoulder, beckoning him to come home, is gentle, and so, so tempting as his vision goes grey and fuzzy.

But Zagreus stands anyway, and forces himself to refuse the call; until he's broken free, he's not done.

ohhh, the idea that thanatos is there everyone he hits a death defiance is so good and so sad, i love it and hate it for both of them. fantastic.

Flight of the Heron

Ewen saw it all in a flash as of lightning: five meetings, the last by water, and ‘grief on the white sand’... the white, moonlit sand, which was growing every moment more darkly red.

But Keith was yet alive, warm and heavy in his arms and breathing in ragged but determined gasps; and the carefree, laughing disbelief with which Ewen had greeted Lachlan’s first news of that terrible prophecy a year ago was turned now to a desperate defiance.

‘Keith, my friend... stay with me,’ he whispered, and then, turning, ‘Angus, Duncan, come here—no, leave the boat—we shall hide ourselves, and I’m going to bring him with us.’

Choices Betrayed (Sex Pistols; Makio/Karen)

"Why do they defy me like this, sweetling? I am their mother! I only want the best for them!" Makio sprawled a little more over the bed, pouting in a sulky hiss.

"They are also grown enough to know what they want for themselves," Karen sighed; why indeed, as though Kunimasa who Makio had raised would be anything other than willful, the way Makio had been, even, and . . . Karen had raised Yonekuni herself and well knew it took an act of the kami to force him into anything . . . if it was possible at all, "particularly when it comes to something like their mates, my darling. Would you have been swayed from me?" she asked, returning to the bed.

"They can consort with whoever they like! I have chosen good mates for them, it is not asking so very much that they comply with their mother's demands!" Makio waved a hand, and Karen bristled, a hundred little betrayals making her hackles prickle and her temper surge as she opened her mouth to roar.
