This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

My Neighbor Totoro/crossover of your choice!, cat bus, strange passengers

His ticket was in his hand, the little kid's advice ringing in his ears, but Donatello still felt like the world's biggest idiot standing at an abandoned bus stop in the middle of the night, waiting for a bus that was a cat. And it was raining, no less. The trenchcoat and hat he was huddled in could only do so much to make that bearable.

But this was his only lead. His only hope, to save his family.

When the bus came he didn't realize it until it had pulled up - maybe it was the sound of it, the plash-plash-plash of paws on wet road that had thrown him, when he was expecting the rumble.... squeak of engine and brakes. It was just, his mind was wandering, and then whoosh, a sodden furry mass with lights and a face and paws and an interior empty of other passengers but weirdly warm and cozy. As the beast crouched down before him, he gawped, because yes, that was a bus that was a cat. Grinning at him like it was happy to see him.

His life, seriously.

Donatello steeled himself and stepped onto the catbus, slipped his ticket into the collector, and found a seat, just like any other working stiff on a New York evening, aside from the whole cat thing.

Curious (My Neighbour Totoro x Gargoyles; Neko Bus, Puck)

The Neko Bus pounced to a halt at their usual stop, flicking an ear and grinning wider in curiosity.

"Yes, well," Puck said, from an even more human-looking mask than his usual self - and he wasn't floating, he was always floating about when the Neko Bus saw him. . . - and shifted the infant cradled in his arm as he stepped up onto the first stair, "there have been some unavoidable . . . complications, recently."

Puck was the only passenger here, so the Neko Bus closed up and turned their attention inside with a curious mw as they began to run; Puck always had interesting stories, and something he called complicated was sure to be a puzzle.

Totoro/Doctor Who. Bill, Not Actually The Strangest

"It's a cat, acting as a bus," Bill said, looking at the door that had formed between one book and the next. "Are you going to try and eat me?"

The Catbus gave Bill a look of disdain, accentuated by a tail flip, that Bill nodded and climbed aboard, trying not to freak out at the big gray creature with the leaf in it's hand, her hope renewed that she might make it to the Doctor before something truly terrible befell him.
