This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Kingsman alternate events from canon

"We really like Harry and Merlin," Roxy said, and Eggsy added, "And the sweet, sweet gear - and the clothes!"; Roxy continued, "And we believe in the mission of keeping the world safe, but honestly... Eggsy and I have decided that this entire institution, even after removing the corrupt leaders, is just terrible and elitist and non-transparent and kind of reckless about psychologically torturing its recruits, and also it's mostly just here to defend the status quo, so...."

Eggsy jumped in, "So basically, gents, we quit Kingsman, but we're going to still take down villains, so feel free to provide us with the same resources, we're just not going to take orders from you lot any more - fuck you very much."

The remaining Kingsmen looked at one another and sighed.

Kings, Jack/David/OMC

Jack nicknames him "the bard" because he recites poetry, softly, every night; at first he speaks the lines to himself, but in time he understands that they do not mind the sound, are soothed by it even.

The bard is younger than either of them but has seen far more war than Jack and David put together; he is not broken, exactly, but he is brittle enough that Jack and David do their best to stop their fights, their old resentments, and to focus on maintaining as much peace as they can in their exile. He is good for them (they always do better when there is something to protect together instead of having to agree on what they want).

When he finally asks to join them in bed, he asks if he can write on them, dark words in ink across their bodies; on David, he writes a romantic ditty over his chest, on Jack a melancholy poem of longing that winds around his torso from his shoulderblade to below his navel. He reads the poems aloud to them, lips honey-slow as he draws out the sounds, then suggests that they blur the written words with hands and mouths.

They were worried at first, that the bard would be one more thing they fought over, one more tract of embattled territory in their long history of love, rivalry, and hate. But the young poet made it clear: they would not compete for him -- he would conquer them both.

He is an old man before he starts to doubt himself, before the question sharpens against his skin: was his mission truly worth it, worth all the broken friendships, all the fierce battles?

His first love had always told him he would come around one day, always the optimist.

When Charles finally realizes that helping to incarcerate mutants engaging in violent resistance had not helped prevent a war, had only prolonged it, he decided to leave his school and his mission behind; he decided that his latter years should be spent visiting an old friend.

Soldiers were taught to follow orders, spies were trained to make the most of chances, and Natasha, being the best of both, was perfectly adept at finding opportunities within the framework of her instructions and turning them into even better ones.

"So, Agent Romanov, I'm guessing the plan was either to seduce or subdue me into revealing all my secrets - not sure either one would've worked out too well for you, but I have to admit, I probably would've enjoyed the game, given the chance."

"The fun doesn't have to be over yet, Stark," she replied with a slow smile, "in fact, I have a feeling we're just getting started."

Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Hae Soo

Hae Soo's nights are plagued with many dreams; in some of them she's strapped to a chair, tears streaming down her face, pleading for mercy.
In others she is forced to sit still and watch her loved ones die.
In others she is Go Hajin again, a simple cosmetician, who lived at a time and place much simpler than this one, where she didn't have to wonder whether she would live to see another day.
(That one hurts a lot; reminding her of something she had but lost through no fault of her own, and that she yearns for desperately but can't have because returning to that life would mean leaving a half of her heart (and of herself) here. This dream also reminds her that the longer she stays here, the more she cracks and breaks (she has picked up the pieces and tried to glue them together, but the shape is nothing like it used to be.))

But the one that hurts the most is the dream that she doesn’t get at night; but one she desperately yearns for. Her, her beloved and their daughter, all three of them, living together in peace.

When 3SF ends I will post this to my AO3: Sundream.

Cloud remained motionless in an attempt to conceal his displeasure. He was doing his best to convince the others that he was just a naturally reserved, standoffish guy, but they had no doubt noticed those moments of discomfort, the brief spells of confusion and pain that seemed only to be getting more frequent; and the longer he spent with them all, the sooner they would realise that this shell was intended to protect him not just from the outside world, but from true knowledge of himself.

"What do you have in mind?" he said at last, trying very hard to sound uninterested.

"Well," said Wedge, "you could come back to my place and meet my cats. Might be relaxing."

"All right," said Cloud, and while he didn't speak to Wedge at all during the short walk to his quarters, he had to privately admit when they arrived that the feeling of several small, warm, furry bodies writhing around him was a greater comfort than he'd thought he needed.

Final Fantasy X, Auron & Tidus

Now, after several years in Zanarkand, during which Tidus had needed less and less support from his strange new caretaker, Auron often found himself looking into the sky at night, and remembering that brief exchange. So many stars, and so many wishes; and yet the city that never slept seemed to be intent on extinguishing both, pumping its bright lights into the heavens and ensuring it made its mark forever.

"It's cold, it's cold, it's so fucking cold," Trevor grumbled, bundled as tightly as he could be in about a dozen layers to ward off the winter chill. His fucking luck, being born to two reptile parents; his temperature regulation was for shit.

Alucard leaned against his shoulder, a line of warmth that penetrated all the way through Trevor's thick coat. "We're almost home. I'll warm you up properly then."

Trevor pressed into that warmth, trying to absorb as much of it as he could. "Does that mean sex?"

Alucard laughed. "Of course it does."

I mean, if anybody was going to be "I am allergic to feelings and also I will have sleep-sex with someone for years before I admit they might mean something to me," it would be Trevor. Although I think Alucard would get his shit together WAY sooner than Shiro did. XD

Ezra had never had a sister before; Ezra had never had a sibling before. And to be perfectly honest, he had no idea when he had acquired one: when his relationship with Sabine had gone from crewmates and friends to siblings. But as Sabine chased him for stealing one of her spraypaints and then put hair dye in his shampoo the next week in retaliation and then the two of them curled up together to watch a holodrama just hours later, he decided he really liked having a sister.

There was a loth cat in her chair—a loth cat in her chair! They were in hyperspace, too, not on Lothal, and they hadn't been to Lothal in over two weeks, so this was not just a matter of someone having left a door open; no, this was a coordinated attack on her ship, and Hera was having none of it.
"Ezra! Sabine! Who wants to tell me why there's a loth cat on my ship in my chair!"

There was a reason he always had a few layers on, even in the middle of winter, and he was finally ready to show her. He opened one side of his leather jacket so his bare chest was exposed to the bright sunlight. She watched, fascinated and then horrified as a shimmery haze that seemed to dissipate and re-shape itself every few seconds formed in the air above his skin and he yelled as the sun, sparkling and merciless, burned him, carving red-hot blisters in a line straight down his chest.
