This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

Edgar and Celes exchanged a look before he frowned after the gentleman and his son leaving the auction house with their newly bought 1/1200 scale airship trailing behind them; how many could they possibly need and how many could the auction house possibly have?

The lady of the house stared in dismay as her husband and son entered with yet another of these model airships of theirs.

The boy looked on in pride as he followed his father into the room where their newest arrival joined the rest of the airship fleet helmed by imp dolls, and, looking up at his father, most earnestly asked, "Father, can we go back to the auction house?"

Childhood Living (Narnia, Digory)

Digory frowns and fingers the edge of the wardrobe door, shut not quite tight, of course - the children had been taught that much at least, it seems - before pulling it fully open, not so much as a creak sounding from its hinges.

Inside, nothing at all - certainly not the children who have been missing for a full day now - until he notices it at the edge of his vision, tiny puddles near the back, as if from melting clumps of snow, and reflected in them, a quicksilver flash of red and white.

“Ah, there you are, old friend,” he says (with some smug satisfaction, it must be admitted), slipping the fox coat from its hanger, incredibly light despite hanging clear to the floor even on his frame and continuing as he steps into the wardrobe, the door swinging nearly shut behind him, “Now, let us see what sort of nonsense has happened inside, hmm?”

ooooohhh I love so many things about this! Lucy replacing Aslan as the lioness she is, yes! The lion fur on puzzle actually being from Aslan, and Lucy immediately being able to feel it, yes! The lion skin functioning as a werewolf pelt in some myths and literally turning Lucy into a lioness (at least that is what I think happened?), yesss!! amazing

(You know that story of the chimpanzee who gets an electrode put in his brain that sets off his pleasure center each time he hits a button, so he hits it until he dies? Consider me the chimp, my fics the desperate mashing of the button, and the comments the pleasure I receive in kind.

Also, I've been, like, waiting months for this because I love flash fiction but no one seems to like it much on other sites.)

The artifacts hold more songs than Concrete Beach Party alone. As Aloy treks across more world than she ever could have imagined, she finds lullabyes, love songs, a father singing nonsense to his daughter in the moments between attacks, a thousand memories and wishes and joys and regrets set to music. And, in a bright moment of serendipity, she finds the artifact that holds a daughter singing back to her father, a strange rhyme that sticks in her head about owls and pussycats and pea-green boats.
