How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

All of mooglekind knows the stories of the birth of the world, of gods and monsters and a sky full of wonders. At every festival they dance the story of Mog, the First Moogle, who was the first moogle to eat a kupo nut and therefore the first being to know true joy and to share it with others - among them, Choco, the first chocobo, who with the sharing of the kupo nut became Mog's first and truest friend.

And they hold mock tournaments to tell the story about how Choco and Mog became the guardians of Light by charging headlong at Evil really really fast. The mooglets love that part.

Recognizing the ease and skill and kindness at which the wrong ideas had gotten into his mind, he decided he would stop and go do something where he would be having a wonderful, and probably less illegal, time.

It didn't actually matter who claims they're getting the prime seat. Sokka and Zuko are both convinced Appa takes off differently depending on how they are arranged, so that Katara or Toph always ends up closest to the front.

Aang chides them for complaining about the situation every time he has to fish one or both of them out from the nearest body of water because of "turbulence" creating a rough flight.

The purple shirt overcomes any and all obstacles! I can totally buy Jill eyeing up the young Caspian (and maybe Eustace noticing and being jealous, though in which direction he couldn't say).

The realization was gradual, and terrifying - given what they now knew about what had been done to them, one of their number knowing something they shouldn't or speaking in a vocal rhythm not their own was cause for concern. But SOLDIERs did not retreat, and the doctors of Mideel knew what they were about, and so they eventually sorted it out. No cause for concern, they declared, just residual changes from Reunion lingering in their prefrontal cortex. Congratulations, you're all now members of a low-key telepathic hivemind.

It was... less than reassuring. But they did what SOLDIERs do - they practiced, and trained, and adapted. They discovered new uses for their telepathic ability that made them even more deadly in the field. When one learned a new skill, they all picked up on it. When one ate ice cream or jumped in a cold pool or got a hug, they could all experience it. The only real drawback was that pranking each other became impossible. Also that they were pretty sure Cloud Strife was part of their telepathic collective but was blocking them out, which was a bummer in multiple directions.

Then, two years later, a tall man with silver hair washed up on the beach near Mideel, and a week later when he opened his eyes every SOLDIER knew it. Where their individual mindscapes ran the gamut from 'tangled landscapes' to 'riot of abstract color', Sephiroth's mindscape was calm, free of Jenova - and as empty as a summer sky.

They're both looking up at him with faces so practicedly innocent that he knows immediately it's nothing actually dangerous, just something they don't want him to know yet, and he sighs and puts his briefcase down and turns around to take his jacket off.

He can hear the scuffling of movement, a low whisper he can't catch, but there's a reflection in the window that lets him see Neal slide something into a box on the side of the table.

He'd be lying if he said he didn't want to know, but they'll have so much more fun if he doesn't.

It took them three separate junctions, four different ships, and an amount of time she'd consider unholy to reach his family if it wasn't that it was his family they were seeing, for the first time ever for her and for the first time in almost a decade for him.

So she's on her best behavior, out of uniform because she knew already any reminder of the service they were in would be considered uncouth on this planet, one hand in his.

She doesn't expect the almost tackle from someone who can only be his sister into both of them, the relieved laughter and the chanting from the people around them as the shuttle immediately takes back off.

i'm so sorry i can't fill this because it's been legit years since i actually watched this but i did recently get my partner to get it for me so i'm putting this in my links for maybe once i've rewatched at all and also, HIGH FIVE for also loving this

Millisecond away from her whip, just enough of a dash and movement to make sure it misses (he doesn't let himself think of the times he wants it to hit, not here), a spin around and his bloodstone in her.

She never smiles at him in here, not really, but that's part of the deal isn't it (she smiles at him other places and other times, touches his face with hands more gentle than anyone would ever expect and than he would ever tell anyone) and he brings the spear back to his hand, tenses for the next moment.

The whip lashes through his chest, not enough time to evade it, and there's a moment of almost triumph in her eyes even as she yanks him closer (she knows it's not a good idea but how good is her judgment really when it comes to him) and he trades blow for blow, watches her slide into the river in anger, knows next time he comes home it will be something new and catches the spear again, lets himself breathe and remember that the journey home will bring him back to her.
