This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

They're torn apart as often as they're thrown together, through a thousand portals, and so many different dreams, but in every world, in every time, Jon makes Susan a promise. "This is the last time we'll have to find each other, because I'm never leaving you again."

It's a promise he can't keep, and they both know it.

She's wed to his brother, and he doesn't care, nor does she. They both should, and they both know how badly this could (will) end, but Susan smiles at him, holds out her hand, and Jon is lost. He'll fall to his knees and worship her in every way he can think of, and all he cares about is the sound of his name as she calls it out, the sweetest sound he's ever heard.

Lucy waits, one foot dangling outside of the dinghy and her arms folded over her head--it is still very dark. The ship is still anchored nearby for repairs from the unfortunate case of mistaken identity with the Sea People last week, so no one cares that she's taken one of the lifeboats again. Besides, it's so early that no one is using them, so she doesn't feel guilty either--if something bad happens, she'd be able to see and row back to help. But right now, it's fine, which is for the best, because this is the only time she gets to share with-

A wet hand grabs her heel and gives it a shake; Lucy grins and scrambles to sit up.

Overhead, the stars are slowly winking out to give them some privacy, which is kind of them, because this is the only time they can spend together before her love has to go back to herding her school of fish. Lucy barely gets the word "hello" out before the sea girl twines her arms around Lucy's neck and pulls her in for a kiss. In turn, Lucy hauls her up into the boat.

In these dark, predawn minutes, the world is quiet and too lazy to care if one human girl and one sea maiden steal some time for each other. It is the gentlest time and Lucy intends to enjoy every second of it.

Oh noooo, it is too sad!! Too many different meetings and partings - and there goes Jon with the vows he won't be able to hold to, AGAIN. That boy has some bad habits.

Instead of the jealousy she'd felt at watching Luke with his sister, with the twins, or just watching Han and Leia with the twins, and Anakin, she felt a deep wonder now. Could she do this, could she be so fully a part of something that was interwoven with love and trust rather than duty and mission?

She cupped her hand behind Ben's head, and drew him up closer, leaning into Luke, and hoped she could do right by her own family.

At hearing my friend mutter once again about Miss Hunter, whose mysterious and possibly dangerous situation also weighted on my mind even a week after her interview with us, I decided to investigate a subject that had been in my thoughts for quite as long: "I was a little surprised by how considerate you were of that lady's concerns, given your initial annoyance at the triviality of her request. But perhaps prior experience with fraternal interest may inform even the ideal reasoner?"
