Welcome to the 2023 Three Sentence Ficathon!

This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.

How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

any, any platonic, intimacy

Robin rests her feet in Steve's lap as the movie starts, and the faces he makes at each funny line are as familiar as the worn springs in his couch.

Maybe, next year, one or both of them will spend their Friday nights getting up close and personal with a girlfriend instead, assuming that their town doesn't get eaten by monsters first.

For now, she's comfortable exactly where she is.

"Sit down and shut up," Tobirama ordered brusquely, faintly embarrassed as he fetched the Emergency Brush from the storage seal on his arm, and Hashirama dropped to the floor with a quiet whine. He grew quiet as Tobirama brushed out his hair, both of them relaxing into the repetitive motions and soothing ritual of it; it was only by chance that Tobirama glanced up long enough to see Izuna's envious look.

"Oh, fine," Tobirama said, breaking the silence, "let me finish up here and then you can be next."

"Sensei~" Sakura dragged the call out cheerfully, and Kakashi made room half a heartbeat before he had a lapful of cosy, warm kunoichi - a habit several colleagues informed him she should have outgrown not long after he'd gotten her, but it suited them.

"You know I can read those on my own these days." Sakura pointed out, snuggling her head back onto his shoulder, tucking her legs up more comfortably; Kakashi kept holding his book out of range.

"You can read them not in my lap." he said dryly, and Sakura giggled, making a lazy play for his wrist, and Kakashi flicked the book aside to the desk across the room as she pouted; she only held it for a moment before producing one of her own - not one of the Icha Icha series, thankfully for his peace of mind - and Kakashi curled an arm around her waist and settled to read over her shoulder.

Kakuzu lifts his eyes from the page he’s currently reading as he reaches for the cup of tea Sasori had set down for him before taking his place across the table, pencil tucked behind his ear and a tea cup of his own held between his hands to warm them. From another room the sounds of Hidan shouting and playing video games can be heard, thankfully muffled through a closed door.

“You didn’t take him tea, did you?” Kakuzu asks as they hear him yelp in pain and curse.

“I did.” Sasori nods with an almost amused look on his face. “He always forgets about it and it goes cold, or he ends up breaking the nice tea cups and I know you don’t like things going to waste. So I used that metal travel cup we have. I suppose now… it’s gotten too hot for him.”
