This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

Any, any, accidentally falling asleep on someone else

Kamila had fallen asleep, head pillowed in his lap and Alma had laid claim to his shoulder to join their daughter in sleep. Jowd leaned back against the couch cushions letting the TV noise wash over them.

It didn't matter if he couldn't move much or would stiffen up; to have all this now was worth it and so much more than he could ever hope to repay.

BTS, Yoongi/Jimin, Accidentally on purpose

The first few times it happens, it's legitimately an accident - Jimin just can't keep his eyes open any more and leans gently towards Yoongi's shoulder, working on the hope that his hyung won't push him away - but it doesn't take long before it's become a thing (and Jimin was right, Yoongi has never pushed him away, not once).

When Yoongi injures his shoulder, Jimin holds himself back, desperate not to cause Yoongi any more pain, but Yoongi is the one who sits next to Jimin, making sure his dongsaeng is on the side of his good shoulder, and smiles at him; they've all noticed how little Jimin's slept over the last few weeks, as if the lack of proximity to Yoongi has somehow prevented him from relaxing at all.

And when Jimin's the one who's ill, curled up in his bed, surrounded by once-warm drinks and used tissues, it's Yoongi's turn; Taehyung comes in to check on his soulmate and finds him with a soft smile on his face watching Yoongi - who's now asleep with his head on Jimin's shoulder - and tiptoes out of the room in silence.

The Expanse, Bobbie/Chrisjen

Bobbie has no intention of disturbing Chrisjen - the woman clearly needs her rest, and she’s going to get it. She gently slides Chrisjen’s handheld away from her and sets it aside on the table, smiling to herself at the irony - all the arguing Chrisjen had done, insisting she couldn’t possibly find time to rest with everything going on, and in the end she’d only exhausted herself further.

Bobbie will do everything in her power to ensure that one day, this war will be over - but for now, she thinks as Chrisjen's head settles against Bobbie’s chest, hair ever so slightly mussed - she’ll take what she can get.

The first time she falls asleep on him, they've just won a long and hard battle and they are all exhausted, but Ahsoka is only fourteen and not used to this. Anakin looks down at her, tiny and relaxed and too innocent for this war, and he silently vows to protect her with everything he has. She's his now, his Padawan, his little sister, and he'll never let anyone take her away from him.

Ahsoka and Anakin's relationship is one of the best things The Clone Wars gave us. 💖

"Yeah! I knew there was something about it in here somew- Kao?" Kojiro craned his neck around, looking down; Kaoru's unbound hair had fallen forwards and it was hiding most of his face, but he could have sworn. . .

Kojiro put the book aside carefully - marking his place, because Kaoru had wanted that reference - and swept Kaoru's hair back with a light touch, and his heart thudded hard in his chest, his breath catching.

Kaoru's brilliant eyes were closed, his glasses sliding down his nose, and his mouth gone lax - tugged almost into a pout by his lipring - and Kojiro realised belatedly that the book under his lax hands was moments from sliding to the floor; he reached for it hurriedly, trying not to move enough to disturb his best friend.

(Clone Wars, post-Zygerria arc)

They sit in silence, somewhere at the edge of the carrier bay; it’s not until she senses pain, rippling quietly from behind shields askew like broken beetle wings, that she realizes he’s asleep.

She brushes the surface, and it whispers back (pain hurting bruises burns couldn’t help them couldn’t save them) before the shields fall back and the quiet rippling resumes—after a moment, she places a calming hand into the Force, and eventually she drifts off.

When she wakes, he’s sitting upright, shields pulled neatly around him, and if he remembers she’s never quite sure.
