2023 Three Sentence Ficathon - Post #1

Welcome to the 2023 Three Sentence Ficathon!
As of 16 Jan 2023 this post is NOW CLOSED TO NEW PROMPTS! PLEASE POST YOUR NEW PROMPTS HERE, IN POST 2! Do continue to fill prompts here but please put all new prompts in Post 2.

This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.

How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

Note that the comm is searchable! Tick the 'include comments' button when searching to easily find prompts for your chosen fandom/characters.

And most importantly, have fun! If you have questions, check the Sticky Info post and if they're not answered there, head to the Contact the Mods post.

Any, any, being surprisingly good at impersonating someone

Knives Out/Glass Onion

Here's the thing about pretending to be Benoit Blanc: Phillip has never been able to get a straight answer out of him, but he's pretty sure the accent isn't exactly natural.

Also he's been sleeping with the man for near on four years now.

So when a constable comes looking for Benoit, who is supposed to be home but most certainly *isn't* because he's solving a very sensitive case in Lithuania, it's easier than he would've expected to shout a convincing "Ah'm afraid you'll have to return at some later date with a warrant" through the door.

Die Hard; Hans Gruber

Even though he knows that the slightest mistake, the smallest drop of his facade might end in death, Hans is supremely pleased with his ability to fool McClane. Once again Americans figure they’re more special than reality, this time thinking it impossible for someone to convincingly fake their anemic accent. Though he would never meet Bill Clay, he had the gratitude of one Hans Gruber, who enjoys the ruse until the time for ending one meddlesome party crasher comes, pressed into his hand as cold, semi-automatic steel.

Harry Potter, Hermione/Draco

Hermione downed the Polyjuice Potion in one motion, watching as she became taller and paler, with a sleek fall of long blonde hair, elegant black robes, and jewels at her throat and on her manicured fingers; she turned to Draco, already transformed into the image of his father, with an imperious swish of her robes and an aristocratic tilt of her chin as she said in Narcissa’s cold, clear voice, “Well, what do you say, Mr. Malfoy?”

Draco examined her, his eyebrows lifted in surprise as he walked around her, noting how she carried and conducted herself, and he said, “You hold yourself just like her—your posture, the tilt of your head, your expression; I don’t know how you’ve done it, but it’s impeccable.”

Hermione smiled, allowing her real personality to show through, and said, “Your mother leaves quite the impression, you know, as does your father, and as you did once—in fact,“ she paused and studied him for a moment, "lift your chin and look down your nose, like that—there, now you are the spitting image of your father and not the wayward Draco Malfoy, defector to the Order and secret lover of the most wanted witch in Britain,” she said, slipping her arm through his with a soft smile.

A part of me wants to find out what happens next (shenanigans and spying, one assumes). But the rest of me is still amused at Hermione pretending to be Narcissa (though, yes, she's got very distinctive mannerisms).

Yes, spying with a healthy side of shenanigans! Haha, I like to think that if Hermione can successfully pull off impersonating the madwoman that is Bellatrix, impersonating Narcissa should be a piece of cake!

Meanwhile, last week... (Keroro Gunso, Saburo Mutsumi & Kururu)

[personal profile] superflight 2023-02-23 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
If there were any holes in their acts, they were small and excusable, really. Especially since the act itself was completely unnecessary!

Them switching bodies had been a complete accident—a small explosion had gone off, but the Fourth Dimensional Gatcha had been too close and it had gotten set off as well—but they could have explained all that easily. Instead, when the others had rushed in to see what had happened (remembering that last time they’d be stuck with a baby Kururu for way too long), while Mutsumi had still been coughing Kururu had slipped into a perfectly smooth impression of him, waving off that nothing had happened, it had just been a little surprising!

“Seems like this could be fun, doesn’t it?” Kururu had explained himself after the rest had cleared out, back in his own tones and expressions and body language, and had followed it up with his own laughter, too. That had been pretty neat to see and hear, actually!

“Yeah, but you have to stay in here to fix the gatcha, right?” Mutsumi had pointed out.

“Come on, Kururu. You don’t wanna wait on that for a while?”

Mutsumi had blinked, then laughed. Then, after just a second, had shifted his laugh into Kururu’s! “Ahaha… Kuuu ku ku ku ku! When you put it that way, da ze…”

So maybe Mutsumi hadn’t been quite enough of a jerk, in the end, in ways that had been both accidental (Kururu was never as bad to him as he was to everyone else) and purposeful (Kururu had pulled him to the side in the end and snapped stop being nice to everyone, which had been so worth it). And maybe Kururu had exaggerated Mutsumi’s personality just a bit and also crossed the line at some moments from mischievous to kinda mean! (Not reading “Natchi’s” letter on his radio program had been pretty low… Poor girl!)

But nobody ever found out what happened, either. And that was pretty special.
