How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

Am I the asshole for faking my death and causing my boyfriend to not trust me or his family enough to tell us about his life altering injury?



So a couple years ago, I was injured in a gang fight - I live in a place where this happens a lot, it’s normal and I’m fine now - and to make a point to my mentor and father figure, I faked my death and went to Africa to heal with the help of my mentor’s, like, adoptive mother and a medical professional who could hopefully talk some sense into him?

But things were crazy and I guess I didn’t tell my boyfriend - best friend, also sort of coworker, and my mentor’s adoptive son - that I wasn’t actually dead and then he lost a lot of important people in his life to, uh, actual deaths and he kind of went low contact with his entire adoptive family / coworkers and he went on this long journey and lost an important but non life threatening organ and he didn’t even tell anyone when he finally came back??

And so the family - not all of us are actually related but we’re a family none the less - got together and it came out that he lost his spleen and he got all defensive and tried to push blame on us and one thing he said was me faking my death - or maybe it was the fact I didn’t tell him - was part of why he didn’t trust anyone in the family enough to tell us about losing an organ and so now I’m wondering if I’m the asshole in the situation?

no i think this is actually pretty accurate, you actually definitely made it NICER than her whole life and everything involving that stretch was tbh if i remember - i'm not so clear on the part with what tim was up to while she was gone didn't read that as much

but also this is fucking hilarious and i love it, and also OH MY GOD STEPH i love her

My [14M] scientist parents have a basement laboratory where they work on most of their failed experiments (not being mean, just stating a fact). I was messing around in the lab and it turned out one of those machines was not as failed as my parents said and it kind of killed me, I think? I know I shouldn’t have been messing around in there but like, they didn’t have any warning signs or anything so it’s totally not my fault, right?

My daughter is a pilot and I really hate it, I want her to quit her job because I think it’s too dangerous but every time I bring it up, she gets very angry at me and we end up fighting. When she applied to university, I changed her application to try and stop her training to be a pilot but then my husband helped her get into pilot training anyway and I have never been at peace since - I don’t understand why both my daughter and my husband can’t see that I’m only trying to protect my daughter from this dangerous job. Recently my husband and I came to stay with my daughter at the house she rents and found out that she has bought a house for herself in the city where she works, so I tried to sell the house without her knowing to try and convince her to move back to our hometown and my daughter won’t speak to me, even my husband is mad at me - AITA?

So, a little bit of backstory: I (M13,700,000,000) work as a civilian consultant for the L.A. police department with my incredible partner (F36), who I’ll call “the Detective” for privacy’s sake. I’ve grown very close to her over the few years we’ve been working together, and she’s the only one that I am truly vulnerable around.

I’ve always been honest with her, and it’s no secret that I’m the Devil— I broadcast that loud and clear all the time. But she doesn’t believe me. The Detective has always thought it was some sort of persona that I inhabit due to family issues, but supported me nonetheless.

My therapist (hello, Linda, if you’re reading this) told me I’m scared to let her see my true face because I care too much about what the Detective thinks of me, which is true. Her opinion is all that matters. However, I have tried to prove it to her. It’s just that every time I’m trying to tell her I’m actually the Devil, some sort of situation ensues: she shoots me with her gun and I start bleeding, or I get abducted and thrown in the desert, etc, etc. It’s like I’m in a sitcom, honestly.

Anyway, a few months ago, this guy who she almost married (long story), I’ll call him Pain because that’s what he causes me, was trying to kill me, and the Detective, being who she is, stepped in front of me and shot Pain, but then one of Pain’s henchmen shot her and she fell back onto me. I was furious, and used my angel wings to shield her (she didn’t see this since she was unconscious) and then left her on the roof, where it was safe, so I could go back and fight Pain. Unfortunately, she walked back into the room right after I’d killed Pain, and my devil face was present and she saw it. She said something like “It’s all true”, and seemed like she was in a state of shock, and now she’s been on “vacation” for several months and I’m concerned that I may have scared her away forever.
