This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.

How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Any, any, detective and thief AU

It's not that EL set out to become an internationally wanted criminal and thief, it's just that she's really good at it. There's nothing she can't take if she decides she wants to, so it only becomes a question of limiting herself to things that her mother won't disapprove of (previously stolen artwork, embezzled and blood money, keys to cages, poison antidotes -- it turns out the world is full of items El can appropriate and still look her mum in the face).

Orion Lake is the only person who's ever come close to stopping her, but he'll never succeed: he loves the hollow thrill of the chase too much to catch a woman who steals with conviction.

Oh this is neat! El's Robin Hood morals in this make perfect sense :D

Love this, especially the bit about Orion - that's so perfect for him, both that the chase is hollow and he's addicted to it anyhow. Even if he managed to catch El, she'd just talk him around into becoming her partner in about two hours.

It didn’t take Quynh long to realize that her weird immortality was shared by her pursuer. The woman believes so strongly in justice that one might think it was that belief keeping her alive—or the universe’s appreciation for her smooth, confident competence.

Quynh thinks it’s the latter—and is happy to take the implied compliment to herself, as they chase each other through time, through empires, through opportunities.

"What could possibly bring such an august personage as the Lady Jessamine's own daughter, swiftly becoming famous in her own right for dismantling the Indrillines' criminal empire, to a quiet backwater like Ragnor Bella?" the young man asked after rising from an elaborate bow and resettling his plumed tricorner hat atop his neatly queued brown hair.

His manners would have been more convincing had he not been wearing a mask over his upper face and standing beside Violet's coach with a bloodstained sword only just withdrawn from her driver's shoulder, but Violet chose to take his question at face value: "Rumors of cults to the Dark Kings, assorted long-lost heirs popping out of the woodwork, and a new criminal element extending tendrils out of the Arguty Forest toward both Ronderell and Chare," she said dryly; "Dare I hope that you might be in a position to answer some of my own questions in turn?"

"Alas, I must disappoint," the masked man said with a swift grin, "but I will leave you with two pieces of advice: first, the Viscount St. Noire is hosting a dinner party the evening after next, to which I'm certain you will be extended an invitation and where you may gather all manner of fascinating gossip; and second, that I recommend Elderflower Books off the market square most highly as a haven for all whose tastes run toward adventure -- you may tell Mrs. Etaris that her former clerk sends his regards."
