I loooove how you joined life and death and how it feels for her now in the wake of her powers changing.
For all that she's alive, they don't feel much different from a corpse's, or from an enemy's. I love how she even considers the enemy alive/dead and as constricting as her corset. The imagery in this is so great—I love how it tries to set her powers apart from her corset, but it just shows the similarities, too. This just feels so very layered.
Perhaps it's one last prayer, a hope of protection from the one she lost just as these powers emerged from the dust of her old ways. Bye! Flipping myself into the sun!!!! This is my favourite line!
