“Do you trust me?” asks Natasha, widening her stance on the practice mat, three days before she betrays him for Steve.

Tony snorts, “Not in the slightest, Natalie.”

But he steps out of his suit mid-air and Natasha catches him; two years later Tony has her back against Thanos, and five years after that he grudgingly lets her into his house, and she spends these second and third and fourth chances trying to deserve them.
