In every universe where there's the countdown with the extremely large ball, there's at least one villain who thinks it'll be the perfect thing to drop the ball on the assembled partygoers once the countdown finishes.

They run an office pool about how many attempts there will be. Winter gets bragging rights, at least until there's a stable way of going between universes.
