When they'd been young (so young and blissfully innocent of the darker things in the world), Mina and Lucy had treated the insignificant hurts of adolescence with cups of tea. They would sit down, each with a cup of tea, and by the time they had both drained their cups, they were happy and smiling again.

After everything, when they finally have time to rest and to think and Mina is finally hit by the loss of Lucy, Jonathan slides a cup of tea across the table to her (she loves this ever-kind man, loves him with everything she has), and Mina can only muster a tiny smile, blurred by tears, grateful but ever so tired.
