The flash of light was blinding, so much so that Steve raised his shield to save his eyes from damage, and when it was over, finally dated to peer across the room once more, wondering if he could trust what he thought he saw there.
"Peggy?" he stammered her name, slowly walking forward, anxious frown turning into a smile, hope swelling in his chest as she rushed to meet him, their arms around each other; "How?" he asked, holding her tight.
"Howard, time travel, a one in a million chance," she rattled out fast, laughing and crying at the same time as she looked up at him, "but it worked, I'm here," she said happily, and then, she kissed him.
