Well, Sakura couldn't blame him, even as she patiently reminded him they had been undercover at an omega-only onsen; it had been tiresome, and she had missed their mate as much as he - they weren't used to taking missions without him, let alone long ones, but as skilled as he was, there was . . . no way Kakashi could pass himself off as an omega, not for so much as an evening, let alone weeks.
Now, however . . . Naruto released her and bounded ahead, but Sakura was already picking up speed herself, and they slipped through the gate together, laughing as they reached Kakashi and tumbled across the grass just shy of the engawa together; Kakashi was lean and solid and familiar as he drew them in close, his own laughter flavoured with an affectionate rumble.
