Besides all the technical lessons of flying a plane, one of the many, many procedural things you learnt in pilot training was how to deal with unexpected passengers - such as hijackers and stowaways: the first was not very likely, the instructor had insisted to a class of fresh-faced pilots who all looked too morbidly disappointed at this proclaiment, and the latter, almost impossible given the rigorous rules and regulations of modern civil aviation.

Today, Cheng Xiao would like to take her old instructor to task for that second part, because the sudden meowing that could be heard from outside the cockpit door was definitely not what a pilot wanted to hear, especially on a cargo flight that was supposed to be transporting a herd of cows.
