This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Spider-Verse, Spider-People, Dropping the Ball

In every universe where there's the countdown with the extremely large ball, there's at least one villain who thinks it'll be the perfect thing to drop the ball on the assembled partygoers once the countdown finishes.

They run an office pool about how many attempts there will be. Winter gets bragging rights, at least until there's a stable way of going between universes.

"Bless you!" squeaked Lucy, who was small enough that the great gust had largely passed over her. To the left, Susan and Peter's eyes were watering, but they endured in silence.

"And Aslan's blessings on you, Queen Lucy!" Father Christmas replied merrily. He bent and picked up the packages of biscuits that had shaken loose from his bright red robe during his mighty sneeze, pressed them into their hands, and wished them all a happy Christmas before mounting his sledge and driving away.

When the first harpoon slices the water beside her, the witch sighs and thrusts herself up, letting the waves surge around her to ensure she has space as she surfaces, reaching for the shell pendant at her neck.

She holds it before her and takes the thin brittle calcite of the shell between her fingers, bends it, turns it back on itself, twists it and yanks and at last flips the nautilus inside out. The song is released, launching into the air around, driving all who come seeking wonders backwards, away from here, leaving them unmolested.

"Wish we could do that with every world," Goofy muses sadly, and Donald acquiesces with a huff.

(Sephiroth, sitting by an open window in the creepy old mansion, decides not to let on that he can easily hear them in the front garden.)

“Who says?” Cardan asks, nonchalant as only the Folk can be as he plucks the fruit dangling from the canopy of our bed, splitting it open with a crack.

Sticky juice drips dark on my bare skin, one-two-three, and he grins, chasing each droplet away with his mouth as I squirm under him.

“We created it, after all,” he says, plucking seeds like jewels, dropping them into my mouth when I open it to make some protest; they burst on my tongue like tart bits of some memory I can’t catch, like his fingers on my lips, stained the deep red of us.

AHHH how do you love everything I love so consistently!!

You Hear The Honk And You Start Running

It is a little bit of a climb, but you think it is worth it to see the entire village laid out underneath you, the humans going about their day.

Today, like every other day, after a short contemplation, you decide that today is a day you will cause problems on purpose.

The humans scatter like insects beneath you as the mighty honk announcing your intentions reverberates across the entire town.

Yessssss, I love the feral Pevensies so much!! The way you describe their animalistic characteristics is so good, especially Ed and Susan (of course I think that lol). The way Caspian sees both sides of them and knows enough to fear the more Narnian side more is so so good, ugh. More like this, please!!

They pass paths sometimes in the night - well, very early morning - when she's coming home from another night at the bars and a stranger's apartment. She's never sure why he's still awake, but his face never changes, the same calm nod as he keeps going, the crispness of his uniform unruffled as ever.

It takes time to realize that even after everything she did he's still worried about her, takes time to realize that she should have left as soon as he came out of the hospital room, that it's not just her she's hurting by staying in the barracks and the ship and the neural link.

His goal had been to ruin her just enough, leave his trace on her just enough, so that Viserys had no choice but to give her to him. How could any man want to touch her now that he had made it so clear that she belonged to him?

Like always Daemon did not get his way, but at least she knew she belonged to him now, and he could be a patient man- for her he could be patient.

"It's gotta be this Venger guy, right?" Sora called across to Donald amid the hail of magic flying back and forth. "He's the bad guy! It's always the bad guy!"

Donald's furious response was lost in another explosion of magic as Presto flung something out of his hat. Venger reeled and backed away, arms flung up to shield his face; in the moment of breathless silence, all of them peering out from around the rocks they'd flung themselves behind when Venger appeared, the ring of Heartless surrounding them...flowed forward, and the boldest of the shadows clawed at Venger's shirts.

"You dare!" the mage roared, kicking out at them, and Sora gaped.

"Okay...maybe it's not always the bad guy," he muttered, ignoring Donald's harrumpf. "But then - who...?"

An eerie chuckle floated over the ground, and the children startled as the Dungeon Master stepped out of nowhere. "It seems your adventure is over, young ones," he said softly, and Sora groaned as he swung his Keyblade up.

i 100% mine any/any prompts to help give me jolts for this project so there is more! and yes POV character and the other one both need like.... 500 hugs, from each other, but they won't do that any more because they have Problems.

i'll definitely have to check out the rest of it! i played that song like three times in a row and then went back to her garden sessions, i don't think i even knew she had new stuff but will def be checking it out
