How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

That works out, though: if their wedding date has strategically directed bad luck already, then we don't have to make sure someone walks under a ladder or opens an umbrella indoors or loses money at a casino, and we don't have to find a black cat ears headband for the ringbearer or an actual black cat, and we won't have to worry about anyone breaking mirrors or bones—and trust me, Marinette will worry."

Diego, a little dazed, stared at—well, the explanation had been complicated and he'd kind of lost the thread, so he was just gonna go with the insistent 'call me Uncle Gomez!' for now—brightened at this, and asked tentatively: "You wanna see a knife trick?"

"Truly an Addams!" Gomez thundered, clapping both of his shoulders.

Almost, he touches the spray of fine lines at the corner of her eyes, pulling back with the heat of her skin scorching his fingertips.

“Those didn’t used to be there,” he says; when she smiles, they click neatly into place, like picks in a lock, and she laughs, a little sound like she can’t quite catch her breath.

“Things change, Kaz,” she says, and sometimes, they stay the same, he thinks, as her bare skin brushes his wrist, his heartbeat racing under her touch.

FFVII, Sephiroth, little kid Sephiroth is going to find himself his very own mother, just like the lab techs talk about.

Transformers (G1 S3) Rodimus Prime/Scourge

He's buried in the shadow of Scourge's thigh, his intake filled with the burn of unclean fuel and his audials thrumming with the vibration of Scourge's groan-purr of pleasure. Scourge has his claws in Rodimus's spoiler and his opposite knee tucked behind Rodimus's helm, pinning him right where he is, right where he wants to be.

But his fuelphage tank can only hold so much, so at length he has to pull his fangs out of Scourge's plating; he laves his glossa over the mark left behind, partly to soothe the bite, partly to seek out one last drop of powerful, dark, corrupted fuel.

One by one, the gloved mechanical fingers wrap around the knife’s handle, knuckles curling in and around on themselves like a mid-day Morning Glory. The cybernetic eye hovering and humming above her other hand’s open palm emits a small green laser of light across the blade’s surface, scanning for any fingerprints or the residue of fluids wiped clean.

She rises to her feet and addresses the hotel’s manager: “It appears this was no mere theft, sir; this was a murder.”

Susan is always terribly efficient, both in dressing and undressing - he's seen both in equal measure and while the delights of the results of one are obviously greater both are still a joy to watch.

Watching her put on her armor for battle, though, that is different and always will be, the precision and swiftness that he appreciates so thoroughly when it's her carefully chosen gowns and delicate underthings and earrings is turned into something different entirely when it's leather he's seen blood stained that she's buckling on.

He catches her hand in the middle of a strap, whispers "let me" against her neck and uses it as an excuse to keep her closer for just another moment.

KH/Hitman, Just Imagine the Keyblade

"Ahh, c'mon," Sora said easily, interrupting himself to leap, swing and turn a Heartless to a puff of shadows. "He's not so bad! And besides, Jack's a pirate."

"Wull yeah, but-"

The sharp crack of a sniper rifle rang out from the roof of the mansion behind them, one last Heartless reaching to claw at Donald vanished into smoke, and Sora turned to wave at their short-term ally with a cheery grin. "Thanks 47!"

Agatha sighs exasperatedly. "You need to start believing that you belong here, Wanda." She grips Wanda’s hands tightly before softening her touch and cradling her hands in her palms. The dry herbs crush beneath their shared strength as slips of magic struggles to ooze out from the cracks of their hands. Wanda’s fist is formed too tightly. "Your magic will be stronger when you realise that you have a place."

Wanda holds herself rigidly, gritting her teeth and sharpening the tension in her jaw. Her hands shake as she keeps them clenched into powerful, unmoving balls. But Agatha keeps hold of her, patiently waiting for her to unfurl all of her fears and anxieties into the magic that eventually slips easily from their clasped hands.

Not far enough away, not warm enough, not cold enough - they bicker endlessly over the small questions in a way that doesn't actually matter, that means nothing because it's just a means of making conversation that has nothing to do with the thing they're always circling around and never quite touching, the way a hawk and an eagle might circle a meal they both want to eat but neither know how to get to without actually confronting the other.

Long, they decide, long and far away. The waves against the bow of the ship are so familiar and so foreign that she can't even tell whether his hand in hers and his arm around her waist are one or the other as well.

Doctor Worm

About half a bottle of wine into your picnic date, you realize that the soft, slightly percussive noise isn't your date tapping on their leg or the distant echoes of children playing on the other side of the park--it's just not syncing up.

You cast your sight around, movements a bit loose and overexaggerated, and go "shh, shh, do you hear that?"

Before your date can ask what?, your eyes both land, at the same time on an inch worm flailing back and forth to hit a tiny, chitinous set of drums with two sticks somehow attached to him.

Item 1: A mother wants you to call her more. Every single day, if possible, but she'd be happy with once a week.

Item 2: A mother likes presents. Sometimes she likes giving them, sometimes she likes getting them. (I haven't sorted when is for which yet. This requires more research.)

Item 3: No evidence of mothers in the lab. Therefore, it will be necessary to depart on a field mission to locate a mother.
