This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

Cross-posting is encouraged; there is a 3SF Collection on AO3 if you'd like to post fills there as well.

“He always thought it would be you,” says Charlie; “he always says you’re turning him grey, running into danger.”

“Eh, well,” says Vera, “he thinks the world of you and all.”

“This is far more than the proper amount of kittens,” Bruce said, gingerly trying to reach his armchair without stepping on any of the too many small balls of fluff currently surrounding his youngest.

“Miss Kyle said I could keep any I wanted and I chose all of them,” Damian said, looking surprisingly imperious despite the number of kittens currently climbing him.

Bruce sighed and shook his head, knowing he had lost this battle before it’d even begun.

“Hey, we made it to midnight without bloodshed,” Nightwing was saying into the comm link. “I think this year is gonna be just—”

And then Arkham Asylum exploded.

Bruce gasped, a horrid, gurgling sound as blood flowed from his throat.

Dick bared his new fangs, smiled beatifically, and drank.

Tim rolled his eyes and scoffed, “How is that not the same thing?”

Jason glanced back at Dick’s uncomfortably tight and colorful pants, and added, “Let's just say that either those things go or I do, and I don’t want to repeat that again!”

“If you hadn’t come in here, we wouldn’t have to do this!” Tim hissed, slipping his head through the shirt’s top.

“Are you and Todd trying to ruin my life for a purpose, or is this just your idea of fun, Drake?” Damian snapped as he finished putting his arm through its sleeve.

“Look at you three, all behaving yourselves,” Dick said, entering the room with an angelic smile, as if he hadn’t more or less forced his three wayward brothers in the over-sized “This is our getting-along shirt” at electric-stick-point.

Jason, in the middle, shook his head, “You’re dead to me, Grayson.”

Tim knows all their identities, most of their secrets, but there’s always one thing that’s never been answerable to him, one mystery above them all:

Pit madness may have affected all of them, but Dick was special; Dick was a multiversal constant.

The thing that returned from the Pit was not their loving, smiling oldest brother, despite the outward appearance.

Still, none of them had the heart to put it down for good.

MASH, B.J, Hawkeye, After The War, Some Habits Are Hard To Break

"I shouldn't be surprised," B.J. says as he looks at the corner of Hawk's room, and shakes his head at the apparatus--this visit to old friends is reminding him how grateful he is they're all back stateside, even if the memories are hard to shake.

Hawkeye shrugs and raises a half-filled decanter, "I got used to the taste."

Hunnicutt doesn't remind him that the war is long over, and they're surrounded by easily purchased, non-terrible-tasting alcohol; instead, he sighs and reaches for the proffered glass, "I suppose I'll survive and just be jealous--Peg would never let me put one in the living room."

We have no doubt of the sincerity of your affections for each other, but we must give you one piece of advice from our own merry war: beware of your friends, for they are almost assuredly plotting both to bring you and your sweetest together and to put their sword point-first into the chests of your love's fellow partisans. These two actions are not compatible, nor do they foster the environment of care and caution that will prevent rash decisions or demands of satisfaction, so if you would bring your burgeoning relationships to a full and happy fruition, be on your guard and implore your own partisans to act with wisdom.

"I think Mr. Wayne is going to find most of his high society friends and collaborators have very little idea of the laws they violate on a daily basis in the course of their normal business practices," Poison Ivy replied, "and how little their wealth actually protects them when true accountability comes calling."

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Marche, Ritz, Sharra, Montblanc, Payback

"Hey, Ritz, remember that snowball fight we got into before we came here?"

"The one the girls and I kicked your butts at?"

At the same unannounced signal, Marche and Ritz pulled the snowballs they had been hiding from behind their backs and fired at each other, diving for cover and leaving their seconds in the line of fire and unable to dodge in time.
