How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

This is so perfectly creepy! I love all the descriptions of how visibly wrong Matthias is, and how Nina fully acknowledges that but doesn't care because she finally has what she wants, even if he isn't the same.

I love the "for this is what it means to be king" quote from HHB, but what I love even more is thinking about how Helen might have used it with her daughters.

Chrono Trigger, Magus and Robo, Cut Off The Head

"So, sixty-five million years ago or so, a member of a long-dead race summoned Lavos from space as a last-ditch revenge against humans?" Magus said.

"Affirmative," Robo said, "Reptite Azala attempted genocide of humans and achieved genocide of Reptites."

"With the time machine and Dalton's wings attached, who don't we just go back and kill Azala before she summons Lavos?" Magus asked, giving Robo another background computation task that might or might not produce an answer before the party confronted Lavos for the final time.

Exact Words

Sarah learned one of the phrases, and it scares her sufficiently that she has no interest in finding any others. Snatches of half-remembered conversations with seemmingly nobody appear in Toby's head, and with them, specific new phrases whose effects he never can anticipate before using them for the first time.

The new knowledge is dangerous, he knows, but it follows the rules: so long as he doesn't use the exact phrase, he can avoid causing the effects until he wants to.

Ouran High School Host Club, Haruhi's Harem

"Oh, what's got the King so riled?" said one of the twins, looking over Tamaki's shoulder.

"It's because he's been dethroned," the other crows, "for Haruhi has the whole class as a harem!"

"Yes, my darling angel would certainly be more likely to have more ready cash than a police officer, even one so exalted to such high station," agrees Emma, toasting Cabanela with a wicked sparkle in her eye as she watches her husband writhe in horror at the very thought.

I'd save you anyway, says Sissel from his perch in Alma's huge mother-of-the-bride tote bag, and yawns widely as he watches the brides dance with Alma in a whirling, laughing, joyous pattern.

The Rise and Fall of the Panem Republic

The last President of Panem is a disputed fact. Most official records claim Coriolanus Snow was the final President, while most of the records of the officially unacknowledged District 13 say that Alma Coin was officially the last President of Panem after Snow's deposition in the riots following the 75th and final Hunger Games. In this paper, I propose, based on contemporaneous accounts and transcripts of the provisional government that would eventually become the United District Council, that neither Coin nor Snow was the last official President of Panem. Instead, by the assent of those present in the provisional government, Katniss Everdeen was elected President before executing both the man who had ordered the murder of her sister and the slaughter of countless thousands in the riots and the Hunger Games and the woman who intended to take over for Snow and then rule as an equally authoritarian and murderous despot as soon as she could kill the Victors that were supporting her in the rebellion.

Tiger & Bunny, Barnaby/Kotetsu, He Likes Plants

Bunny stopped in the middle of polishing the leaves of his jade plant, his green eyes huge and wounded. "Kotetsu, how can you say something like that? I couldn't give any of them up!"

Kotetsu looked around the apartment—once bare except for a table and a chair, now packed so full of plants and pots that there was hardly any space to move—and sighed. "Yeah, what was I thinking?"

Ooof, I love the little details here - the way she holds onto the doorframe to keep herself upright (and, possibly, locked in place, so she doesn't follow her family into their ruin?), the comparison of his face to marble, the torches piercing the night like their swords will pierce the Teleri so shortly! You always write such thoughtful stuff.
