This post will remain open for new prompts until we hit 4000 comments, at which point we'll open a new one to avoid captcha as long as possible. New fills and comments on fills will always be welcome.


How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

Notes & Rules

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

He had chuckled at reading that, nestled in the crook of the Roegadyn's burly arm, pleasantly tired from their exertions; he couldn't help but laugh at the differences in their situation. LOL. Love how Kabuto takes the tropes to the logical conclusion -- it's just a thing that happens -- and Orochimaru' very sensible counterargument.

Oh wow! I love the metaphors -- Fëanor's fire, Fingolfin and the ocean rock -- and the final image, the two of them looking at each other and how much is conveyed through that gaze, the moment of almost-accord before they resume the war.

It feels very "scene from an epic". :)

She has never been so weary in all of her life, Nashmeira thinks - not when she was training her company and her new disciples in the hope that she could finally rest for a time, and not even as an apprentice when she had spent untold hours training and trying to prove herself; the threat of more of these poor twisted creatures was unending, born out of pain and grief as they were, and even without her troupe she was one of the few in Eorzea that could calm their fears.

"I never imagined something like this... even in my worst nightmares," she managed, sitting next to her beloved songstress, who had been traveling with her and providing her with accompaniment in the absence of her troupe; she had returned to Eorzea to visit her again, after all, and they'd both agreed it only seemed right that they travel together and try to do what they could during these strange days, to help as much as they could.

F'lhaminn smiled back at her - her smiles were one of the few good things that had come out of these days, she thought, worn as they were - and then picked up her hand to hold it to her lips; "For luck," she murmured, before kissing her knuckles gently, "as I expect we'll need all the luck we can muster to survive this."

I Smell Snow

It was the mildest winter Connecticut had seen in years, temperatures staying up, not a chance of flakes or flurries, as Thanksgiving faded into Christmas and then New Years.

Lorelai just wasn't herself; sad and forlorn, missing her favourite weather, the special gift she saw as all her own - snow - until finally, one evening, when a strange sound drew her to the window, eyes wide and bright as a child when she saw the swirling, sparkling cloud of white.

Hat and coat in hand, she ran to the door, throwing it open, smiling widely, and amazed all over again to see Luke standing by his truck, operating the snow machine sitting in the flatbed - she really could not love him more.

Had We But Time

The flash of light was blinding, so much so that Steve raised his shield to save his eyes from damage, and when it was over, finally dated to peer across the room once more, wondering if he could trust what he thought he saw there.

"Peggy?" he stammered her name, slowly walking forward, anxious frown turning into a smile, hope swelling in his chest as she rushed to meet him, their arms around each other; "How?" he asked, holding her tight.

"Howard, time travel, a one in a million chance," she rattled out fast, laughing and crying at the same time as she looked up at him, "but it worked, I'm here," she said happily, and then, she kissed him.

Aww, thank you for filling this! I love the language here, clear and bright and wondrous, and the world it paints. I looked up the game and it looks so cool as well!

Burning (Naruto; Madara/Tobirama)

"You think you can make me scream?" Tobirama countered, low and rumbling, sliding his hands over Madara's shoulders and feeling him shudder, drawing him in; Tobirama sank sharp teeth into Madara's lower lip as he growled, pressing closer. "You think you can burn yourself into me? Try it." he invited with a vicious grin as Madara shoved him down.

Me too! But Fallen London came to mind because it seemed very likely to have humans turn out to be a pile of something else, like, I don't know, five hundred Rattus Faber under a trench coat... :D
