How to Prompt

Prompts should be one prompt per comment, formatted in this way: fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence

Example: Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand

Prompts may also be open ended, unspecific, or anthropomorphic, such as:

any, any, I don't like sand
or
Earth geography, sand, I don't like humans very much, either

Prompts for relationships are welcome; a / is used for romantic/sexual relationships and an & for platonic. A prompt that uses both means the relationship can be written as either romantic or platonic, such as:

Star Wars, Anakin/&Obi-Wan, I don't like sand

Prompts may be repeated if they are unfilled; there is no obligation to read through every prompt to make sure yours isn't a repeat. This year's 3SF will stay open for new prompts through Sunday, February 12th.

How to Fill

Respond to your chosen prompt with a short fic of three sentences containing the fandom & characters requested!

Prompts can be filled more than once, as many times as someone has a new idea for them.

No, fills do not need to be exactly three sentences! It's more of a guideline. Please abuse grammar and punctuation as much as desired.

3SF is a Choose Not to Warn space. Spoiler and content warnings are not required, though writers are free to add them if they please. If you see something you don't like, just scroll until you do!

A Dreamwidth account is not needed to participate. Anonymous prompts/fills are welcome, or you can use Open ID.

I do love Susan fighting with whatever weapons remain at her disposal! Words are such a good choice, and the metaphor with wounds and aiming and heads rolling is excellent.

Yesssss he has no idea at all, so the tiniest of things has a huge impact. Bo-K letting herself be distracted though...yeah, it's a bad sign. Poor thing.

She loved him from almost the moment she saw him, knew his gallantry and his kindness by the end of the night. People can always change their acts under different circumstances, but she has always thought of herself as a good judge of character and motivations and he moves with nobility, talks with grace, dances with joy.

"I would take you as my wife, if you would agree to it," he says in the garden, on his knees before her, and she knows in her heart this will be both ruin and joy.

Rory vs Taylor showdown with Rory for the win! I love this! They would totally have a town meeting about this and I just love Rory putting her foot down and standing up for Jess. Also, Taylor's 180 when he realized it was a losing battle and moving on to the wedding planning is too perfect and totally IC for him. Poor Jess is going to want to elope after that. :D

Aww, the feelings! This is so lovely and bittersweet, because it isn't real but Steve doesn't care, as long as he could have a moment with Peggy. MY HEART. IT ACHES. But in the best possible way. That last line was definitely a killer. Oh, Steve. <3

There might have been tears, in the early hours - no, though, there weren't, there was only the fervent rush to pull him out, to push the combat meds, to wait for the help, there were only the quiet words to his unconscious body, the begging for him to come back to her.

The waiting room is just empty, empty and silent and impossible to cry in because if she starts when could she ever stop?

In the end the first time she cries is the end, once it's all over, once he's alive but what she did means he's not hers anymore, means that he'll never trust her again, means she saved him but not them.

Magic is everywhere now, and Mr Segundus finds it in the cracks in the teacups, in missing buttons, in the colour of cats' eyes and ravens' feathers, in the cobblestones and the carriages, in the bittersweet evening fog and the tricks played by the wind, surrounded by small hints of light, perfectly round and bright, faint and then sharp again.

Thank you! I was trying to balance how 'who she is' is really . . . well, the original her is a little lost - with how she does love all of her selves and think of them as real and enjoy her chameleonic life. ^.^

After spending sixteen years in a small cottage, Cimorene had expected the castle to feel oversized and drafty.

Which it was, if she were honest—it always had been, with echoing grandiose halls, tall rafters that hadn’t been cleaned in sixteen years now, and long meandering hallways that she had to squint to see the ends of—but in a way that felt less uncomfortably spacious and more like she could breath. Like her lungs could expand and like she didn’t have to think about how much space she took up.

It was a strange thing to be home again, but Cimorene quite liked it.
